It is true that California coastal weather, from San Diego to Santa Barbara is the absolute best in the world (I used to live in Newport Beach and loved it) and that California has some of the best natural beauty in our country be it deserts, ocean, forests, mountains -- but the reality is that the California economy is not in great shape and getting worse, and it is getting incredibly expensive to raise kids there.

Two 17 years old and learning to drive, a 10 month old, a 38 and 36 year old.I lived in the desert near El Centro, CA, back in the 1990's, less than 5 miles from the border with Mexico, off on a dirt road where by zoning the land was agriculture and houses could be no closer than one every 1/2 mile.

When I was in the Marines, I once spent a month in the Moroccan desert and we just dug beds in the hot sand, ate cold military rations, and bathed in the Atlantic, which is the most minimalistic that I've ever lived, but it was also one of the simplest and most joyous times of my life.

Did the other town there's probably desert property that I could purchase with a minimum of 20 percent net income for monthsAs it seems right now in the better of the two cities that I currently work at, there are at least 4 properties I could purchase for a medium purchase price of $35,000.
