It's going to look MUCH better, plus will help people visualize themselves using the backyard for kids, dogs, barbecuing, entertaining, etc, all the usual backyard activities.Since there is plenty of on-street parking available, there's no real need to sacrifice the backyard... but if someone wants that, they can still easily do it.

For that you've got to give up a bit of the control on totally changing design (unless those specific design choices are based on specific knowledge that will increase the performance of the site vs. just making changes to make it visually different).
