I currently own CHK (high risk play) and XLE (value play), and am looking for another angle.Hopefully this first creates some great buying opportunities, and then some appreciation.I always found it humorous at the end of the movie "The Big Short" after Michael Burry just made his investors a 489% return, they were calling and shouting at him for buying stocks when the market had just crashed.  

My dad started in this bizz in CA in 1962,,, as a family RE bizz we bought thousands of these lots over the years at tax sales and other venues.. then sold them for 50 down 50 a month.. 8 to 18% interest.Same scenario you see with Texas 20 acre parcels for 2k down 40k and in Montana you could buy 20S the same way before the movie stars found Montana...My pop bought thousands of these over the years. it was not uncommon to buy lots for less than 50 bucks at the tax sales. the 50 down payment we had all our money back.. then we would sell the paper to note buyers in Beverly hills.. for 50% discounts..

My town has 2200 people and has 4 restaurants, a little store, two gas stations, some shops, 2 golf courses, a summer theater that has movies and sometimes live entertainment and plenty of backroads where you can buy 5-10 acre parcels you’d rarely see other people and could build a cabin and have solar.

Me and @Ben Leybovich were just talking about this recently (you have to know how "the movie" will play out). 

Maybe while in line at the movie theater you ask your daughter how her period is going and discuss if pads or tampons' would be better? 

I am able to do this by creating a company that builds out garages into movie theatres, custom murals, high-end design etc.

Movies (actual cinema with indie films, documentaries, etc), art, culture, dancing, fine dining, we even have an opera house!

These freakin banks make me sick and I just want to pull every dime I have from them and find a new means for storing cash and paying bills from that cash.Has anyone seen the HBO movie out this year "Too Big To Fail"?
