I'm leaning towards selling this house soon and moving that equity into a variety of stronger real estate investments: syndication, or possibly building on one of my other properties where I can realize better returns.  

I looked at cheaper but I like the variety of options they offered when I was researching.

To me, it seems like this would be an excellent 1-2 year crash course to learn the "nuts and bolts" of the industry for a variety of reasons.

I will test a variety of methods, but everyone seems to advocate the standard direct mail method. 

I was able to carefully choose my stays using the profiles and was able to meet and spend time with a priceless variety of people: people with cats, people with awkward teenagers or adorable tantrum-throwing urchins, people who lived in semi-restored historic ruins, bohemian weirdos with artsy communal lifestyles, widowed intellectuals with priceless antiques and hours to spare patiently correcting my grammar, people who forced me to eat and drink meals worth 3x what I was paying them, all of whom didn't speak (or agreed not to speak) a lick of Anglais. 

We are continually fighting cats using the front flower beds to do their "business".

People use a variety of rules for calculating needed retirement income but they are often argued.
