(apparently they are comfortable with the risk of a 1000$ per night fine) I have heard it is less enforced in condo resort communities like Silverado.

Haven't decided if we will do a golf, ski, beach, or NYC city, etc rental/vacation home yet.Appreciate any help or insight, thanks!!

At a resort, down town in a business district, who is the target market?

The questions I would ask to come to a conclusion would be:Does the property have all the highest amenities in the market that new properties have, such as, resort style pool, clubhouse or social setting, top of the line gym, dog park, car wash area, walking trails, free common area wifi, coffee shop, garages, etc...?

Unfathomable... yet I wonder how much they would be worth to hold them for a while and sell them to a developer looking to build a resort maybe a year or so from now.

@William Hochstedler I've been living in several resort towns lately so clearly that's going to be expensive, but when I was renting in the suburbs of Chicago, (which I have lived most of my life) the cost of living in SLC is much lower.

Even in a small town I hear complaints of how some guy was smoking pot in the lobby of the ski lodge or hallway of the motel the school kids were staying at. 

If that is simply not feasible we can take the property back deed in lieu, or still make a profit through foreclosure as a last resort.

Hello all,Hoping to get some input from investors out in Honolulu County about leaseholds and using them as a vacation rental.I found a few leasehold condos in the Honolulu/Waikiki area in buildings within a BMX/resort zone and was thinking about using them to rent out on AirBnB.
