I recommend starting with video doorbells.

I've watched plenty of YouTube videos, I've read some blogs, and I think I have a general sense of what the process would need to be for me to screen tenants, keep up with city ordinance and state laws and so on.

I have been watching coutless videos as well as articles about NPV and I am starting to wrap my head around the concept and what it is used for.

Are there books, videos, blogs, etc?

I cannot agree more, Podcasts and YouTube videos of BP are my best company in my commute every day!
