In future if you are refinancing I would sometimes look to pay a higher purchse price but have seller concessions to bring the price down on paper but not for comp purposes.

I appreciate your responses  @Makani Donaldson Leveraging your existing relationships will probably much easier than trying to find someone you don't already know agree to help you out.

Since “thank you” seems to have gone out of style, I now limit responses to one or two sentences.

Work with a real estate attorney to draft a formal agreement that outlines responsibilities and protects both parties.
