My goal in real estate is to gain my freedom - own my time 100% to do what I like daily and enjoy my life. 

I’m new to the site and new to the world of investing in real estate Looking for a way to get to financial freedom and have been reading old posts on BP, listening to podcasts, and reading as many books as I can in order to get as much education as possible.

My freedom number is $3,000 per month in net income.

The rental market is very strong for single families, especially with an abundance in healthcare occupations and a large university. 

I think most of us here invest in real estate so we have the freedom to do this. 

I can't picture myself stunting my entire lifestyle through the prime years of my life just to suddenly come into financial freedom when I'm 65 and less able to enjoy it.

We are currently on Liberty Share which is a healthcare sharing ministry that avoids the Obamacare ACA requirements and therefore has a very low premium (about $500/month for entire family).

@Bryan ClementIt all depend of what will make you both sleep better at night.For some people having no debt is a freedom that is worth it.For some it’s a maths equation where you can make better return on your cash than the interest accrued on your debt.

Sorry for the long reply, I just wanted to make sure I acknowledged every step that took to reply as I appreciate any tips considering this will ultimately lead me to financial wealth and freedom!

@Susan Grayson, REI is a fantastic vehicle to financial freedom, but new investors should understand the game a little more before tackling complicated projects.I wish you do well in REI, and learn as much as you can from small-simple properties before placing a large sum of money on bigger projects.Best wishes
