I am currently serving in the Arizona Army National Guard and will be ending my 9 year career in December.

I have sold my primary residence and using cash savings and equity (approx $200k usd) from that to start my investing career here. 

I do have background in the RE and constantly continue my education in the field daily.

Background: I got into real estate after finding myself homeless having been laid off of my job at a religious organization serving people, (I left my corporate career to do so and made less than $9,000 per year). 

I have a steady income as a employee at Costco but, I don't want to be there forever so I'm not sure if I should start a career in real estate as a broker or an investor first?

Our goal is to increase our net worth, to help supplement retirement income down the road and to currently provide a stream of cash flow to enjoy some of the finer things in life.We both work full time in professional careers and have so far found a way to manage careers and the real estate business while keeping up with two kids (15 yrs & 20 Yrs old).  

Why wouldn't they just go work with someone who dedicates their entire career to serving people in that capacity? 

I would like to develop some more knowledge within this field.

Public speaking or communication is more my strong suit.With Rocket Mortgage catering to millennials I'm concerned getting and keeping a MLO license may cost more and yield less.I have a school lined up for either career path.

I just wanted to let all the other newbies know that with all the great info available on BP, I have been able to start my real estate investing career successfully (so far) and I can't wait to aquire my next rental.
