The laundry is at the base of the stairs which is in a weird spot because there is a room on the other side of it.( meaning the upstairs people would be in the downstairs tenants space)..

Someone completely gutted the inside down to the studs and reframed almost all the interior walls..Floor plan was changed started by relocating a new set of U-shaped/ half landing stairs possibly 45-48 inches in width from the basement up to the main floor and beyond into what looks like to be an attic for storage on the front of the house and may be large enough for another bedroom on the rear but if not just more storage..new furnace/AC also ductwork to half the house and new electrical was run in some rooms but still may need to be finished in interior walls .

If a rental the building inspector will reinspect every year to verify it is safe (At their whim, smoke detectors, handrails, step height a little high this year, crack in cement, flowers don't jive with the neighborhood "aesthetic".

If someone complains about there being too many stairs and no elevator, and the owner points out that the ad states "the apartment is on the third floor and there is no elevator", it explains the bad review is irrelevant.

Maybe change my policy and inform tenants that while I provide water and electrical hookups for laundry in the basement, they can go lug their own machines up and down the basement stairs and set up their own dryer vents.

We ask for proof and 4 days later he sends a screenshot of a venmo payment to some guy for the "vent cleaning", cleaning service receipt (the house was clean when we left, we have a video), and pictures of 1 inch scratch marks on the stairs (wear and tear?).

The shower is in the basement under the stairs (yeah, this tiny structure has a basement) and there's really no kitchen.I had a contractor eyeball it and he said he guessed it would be about $15k to redo the place (move the shower/sink into the bedroom, convert the upstairs entry area into a tiny kitchen, consolidate the furnace/water heater with smaller units and move them to a corner, and then have the basement be the living area.
