I had to do this twice last month in TN.I had them use trenchless technology where they put in a new pipe in both cases.One was for my personal house $3500 and replaced a pipe that was plastic like and maybe 20 years old.

The ink holds fast on them, but the adhesive craps out and the sticker falls off.My latest solution were those plastic key head tags (colored plastic ring with a window in the center for the label).

@James Oey vinyl is different than laminate...no wear layer, solid except the core is a different more rigid plastic or stone.

On the other hand, my inspector, who does good work, said that if I get a renter who does a lot of a certain type of cooking like stir-fry, not having the vent could become an issue over time.
