Legal "co-mingling" is more than just having the money in the same location.(2) You need a yearly (and perhaps on-going) review of your company to ensure that you (1) are keeping up with any changes in the law and (2) that you have been managing the money of your asset holding company correctly to keep away from any piercing the veil or other actions which would lump all your Series together into one pot of assets. 90% of my clients hire me for this service which I call the "Family Office Plan"(3)/(4) My colleagues and I haven't seen banks foreclose on performing notes based upon the due on sale.

If your asset does not maintain enough insurance to cover a claim or you don't keep up with the added expenses to maintain the LLC as a separate entity (comingled accounts, personal checks paying for expenses, etc.) will a judge pierce the corporate veil and come after you anyway?

I don't honestly know anything about it, but I would think that if a court pierces your corporate veil, anonymous or not, I think they'll still get the information to track it back to you.My understanding is that LLCs are really only valuable to protect you from a partner and a partner from you.

If you don't do those things, you might as well not have the LLC because an attorney will pierce the corporate veil quite easily.There is no standard I've seen, but your plan is more to one extreme.
