I guess my point was you should not ignore the very real, if gradual, reduction in principal that occurs each month and not focus solely on the cash flow, especially if you can afford a slight negative before tax cash flow and achieve the benefits of lower taxes.

In a simple interest amortization, they are paying interest each month on the amount still owed, so the principal part will gradually increase and snowball as the debt is paid down.

@Joe Splitrock - and putting aside my personal like/dislike for our current president, the tax reform plan will hurt economy in the end, slowly and gradually.........Give it 2 years and the impact will show up...or at least that is my view of it....Like I said, rob the poor to give to the wealthy does not work...
