Do you remember if you ever invested in your TSP or any sort of saving plan while in the military?

I have a close friend who is 23 years old and about a year removed from the military who is renting two of the bedrooms in the home he owns to friends. 

Keep in mind that once you get out of the military it'll be more difficult to get bank financing.

I spent 7 years working for the US Army Corps of Engineers, overseeing large scale military and civil works projects; and I currently work with the VA overseeing facilities operations and construction.

The drawback to that is constant turnover, but with the military tenant, it's the price you pay.
