I found biggerpockets through J Scott's website and am really impressed with all the information here as well as the podcasts (just started show 30).I've been involved in rentals since I was a kid (my family owned a number of student rentals properties) and the first house my wife and I bought was a triplex so we were lucky enough to live rent free until we started our family and needed something a little bigger.

They might think the land is valuable to a rebuild investor, or hope that transplants from California will justify the price tag/repair value because it's cheaper than what they're used to seeing.
