Recently purchased my own house for $260k, 3/2 on a quarter acre with a pool, down the street from a park and in a good school district with low crime, and could definitely get $1,500 rent for it.Although, at $250k purchase price, 25% down and a 5% interest rate (typical for investment properties) your monthly mortgage payment will be roughly $1,340 per month.

Cheep and easy for a landlord to install and a excellent excuse for the landlord to do their quarterly inspections with out tenants feeling they are being watched (which of course they are).Our codes require they be installed and maintained by the landlord otherwise the landlord will be held liable in the event if death or injury.

I have read great material such as this article on Investopedia, but I am confused as how these taxes are really assessed and how I can estimate property taxes when analyzing a property.I looked up the home I currently rent in located in Jersey City, NJ (via this Jersey City gov link), I found that the property tax changed every two quarters.
