I dought its death valley as that is a national park.. but its probably CA high desert.. this stuff has been sold and traded around for 100 years literally.contact a broker see if its truly worthless dirt.. you can let it go for tax's and then claim the overage someone will buy it at tax sale then sell it to the next person down the line .you see those who deal in this stuff on this site.. its the land geek guys and others of that ilk.

I sold a parcel of New Mexico desert land last year and I had it priced a little higher than this - but still in a similar ballpark.If you're buying it from a land flipper (someone who probably paid closer to $500 when they bought it from another motivated seller), $2,500 would be enough to give them a decent profit and you a great deal.

We xeriscape  the front yards on our sfr's(rocks, gravel, flowering low water desert plants, bushes, drip systems)  and  leave the back yards to the tenants to care for.
