My preference is end-end security via SSL (data in transit), with locally secure servers (data at rest) allowing MD5 or SHA-based encryption (using PHP 'hash' function) and administration (data in use) via cloud-based services over SSL connections.

PS: Most of the time when you buy a functioning business - and that's what a fully rented MFH setup is, a functioning business - you pay a premium for that purchase, with the risk that the numbers aren't as rosy as they seem.

We have moved to hardwired-interconnected with battery backup (in older buildings we use the ones that interconnect wirelessly if we cannot easily pull a 14/3 between the detectors).We also make it very clear in our lease that disabling or impairing the functionality of any fire/gas detection or suppression equipment is a minimum $200.00 fine and cause for termination of the tenancy.

@Annie Thompson  I think one of the main functions of the site is to compare actual product side by side and compare cities and see what kinds of returns.. are out their from the providers that post their inventory  its real inventory that can be bought and you don't need to go to a squeeze page to get the super secret inventory lists LOL..I would not base a buy decision solely on  online reviews..
