For turn key rentals I'd urge you to consider first something you can self-manage from home followed by Ohio, Texas, North or South Carolina.

We're handling two of these for owners right now, one just passed final inspection, the other they came up with their 3rd set of repairs:(If your home is north of 10 Mile, your rent should be too high to qualify for S8.

A couple of options I can think of are Yosemite, North Lake Tahoe, and Napa Valley.

If you are seeking more of a cabin experience I would look into the Ponderosa community which is about 15 miles north of Leavenworth. 

There is also Metro North train station in Poughkeepsie to Grand Central NYC. 

I already own a house in north jersey not far from Morristown, thinking about buying my first multi family long term rental locally or somewhere like Buffalo or Cincinnati… I have a few questions and would love insight on any or all.
