I am a big fan of the oscillating multi tool, I use that thing for everything.

Look up the costs of materials for various things (Flooring, cabinets, granite, shower tile, vanities, fixtures, fans, windows, doors, baseboards, etc) and then look up the local flooring installers, cabinet installers, countertop fabricators, shower tilers, window installers, etc. and ask them how much they charge for labor on certain things.

Some leaky faucets , slow drains , a broken window , a broken screen door, missing damaged facia , Eve's and saufet .wood decay around front door , a ceiling fan that doesn't work , ac with water filling drain pan , crack in garage ceiling , 1 cracked floor tile, 1 double tapped breaker , and a missing attic inspection cover .

A few thoughts:I'm not a huge fan of condos.

I'm also a big fan of renting to other military personnel due to the extra securities it brings with it should your tenants do you dirty.

On the side of building a portfolio of investment properties in the future, I'm evaluating getting a job in Real Estate too because I'm passionate about the industry and because it can be a path to learning as much as possible about Real Estate generally while earning money, save, and then invest myself.I think it's Ok to ask for advice here, so here it goes.
