Does anyone have experience of setting up a STR while in the same position? 

I don’t have any direct experience with retirement accounts as I never opted to use them so I could keep cash available for investing now.

In my experience, most have limited product offerings.

In fact, based on my personal experience I think the high value data provided shows the need to pivot internationally. 

So how are you going to convince an investor, presumably an American, to invest in a foreign country where he/she presumably has no experience rather than investing in his more profitable backyard.
