When I first got the house and was still in the process of furnishing it I didn't have it up on any rental apps yet and would rent it to friends and family, then once it was complete I started doing a mixture of both on and off app.

The home is dated in style and has not been renovated since the 60s but has been very well maintained and we are receiving a home that is furnished.  

Your easiest bet is to buy an unfurnished home/condo on a 20-25% down investment loan, then just furnish it and run it as an STR.

This larger home would cost us $1.1 million+ all closing costs and start up costs to make it STR- ready (it comes partially furnished and needs no renovations).

Just to quickly name a few... rent-by-the-room, single-family property, with ADU or mother-in-law suite that you rent as a "duplex", short term rentals, and medium-term furnished rentals.

The house just had the electrical upgraded, basement water proofed, new roof 5 years ago, newish furnish, newer windows.

It's almost 3000 sq ft with 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, two living rooms (first and third floors), and a wet bar on every floor.The nice thing about these larger vacation rentals is that they typically come furnished.
