But, far too often, I have seen new investors stuck in analysis paralysis because they are being a generalist. 

Unless it's in really bad shape, it's usually worth it to get 2-3 real estate agents to give you a market analysis with estimated seller net (even if you're out of state, they can email it to you) so you can compare before you agree to sell. 

Long past that stage in my life and know a bit about the real life we live in.

Next best thing would be to partner up with a flipper and help get them deals.Best thing is to just pick one and go for it all in otherwise you get analysis paralysis.
