I would contact the Dept. of Aging and Adult Services or Adult Protective Services or its equivalent in San Diego and report this situation. 

I'm seeing a tremendous amount of large commercial and residential properties being listed (and frequently sold) for insane prices ($20M - $200M) throughout the country.

In 2018 there have been 5 duplexes in San Jose, and one in Redwood City that have sold for 900K or less.

When I started looking into it, I realized it was a good way to make money without an enormous investment in time/money (college), which is what I have been looking for.We didn't end up purchasing a property but the broker has agreed to be my mentor, and I sit down with him occasionally and talk about the industry, what I've learned in class, and also just BS because he also happens to be an interesting dude in general.We also have an old family friend ("uncle" when I was growing up) who does REI in San Antonio through Lifestyles Unlimited.

As everyone knows California markets are hot and insanely expensive, I'm thinking to invest out of state.

We are in San Jose right now and currently have 2 SFH (9 units) in the RIT 14623 area.

I currently live in San Jose and very thankful that we have purchased our home back in 2011(still affordable then).

I also feel that Oceanside has great appreciation potential in the future as it is one of the last beach cities in San Diego that I feel is undervalued.

I live in San Diego, a very expensive market and I am just about to get started to invest in RE.
