Thank you.I am thinking about taking the plunge into real estate and I am trying to wrap my head around how to do the taxes before I jump in so I have a few questions.  1st: My wife and I will be buying this property together and we file a joint return.

Hello Jen1) How so many people have no clue, and most customers are going to freak out when buying their first home ( I did, too )2) I think you MUST keep your day job until your comfortable enough to plunge in full time.

On that note, some may see home prices as too rich, may be be moving in a few years, or in a cyclical job (oil, some types of construction, etc), so they don't take the plunge on a purchase...Best of luck!

But if you show me numbers and explain why you think it's a good idea I will trust you and be more willing to take the plunge"So basically one of your first difficult tasks in this whole real estate investing process is getting your spouse or loved one on board.
