The front of the house had a huge diagonal crack from window-sill height down to the ground. 

Diagonal cracks like that are shear cracks. 

That was after I had a tenant who parked a dead car with no plates diagonally across the front lawn, along with a broken dryer.

We did just get one of these approved for a project in Pilsen during last months ZBA Hearing; however, that was a unique lot because the rear of the lot was clipped by a diagonal alley...3) The final option would be to obtain a full-on "Zoning Change" (Zoning Map Amendment) where you would change the Zoning designation of your individual lot from RT-3.5 to something higher like RT-4.

Original idea was to remove 2 layers of siding, but engineer said he didn't know what was behind the original siding and how it was nailed down so we had to remove it down to the diagonal ship lap that was common on those older houses.  

Now make 2 diagonal cuts corner to corner the whole length of the board (so you just cut a big X).

Some jobs are coming back, but well below parity with the pay of comparable positions pre-crash.

I don't see how that is possible, the only way would be to carve out a diagonal in the upstairs bedroom closet, which I guess is what the city inspectors would want.

(So in future- if leaks at copper to PVC joint, at least it's in dirt and not under concrete.)A reason the 'good idea' might not work at our location: We don't know where the old PVC line is- suspect it might be a direct run from the meter to the house (which is diagonal).

Is it old diagonal tongue/groove subfloor under fir?
