Make no mistake in that the smell of Aldehyde is like no other in that once you have had a whiff, not unlike ammonia or skunk (think marijuana cigarette smoke), it's definitely a strong scent you will not soon forget.

If I owned single family (I don't) I'd consider dogs.If you think someone might be a smoker instead of asking if they smoke ask them how many cigarettes they smoke a day (picked that one up on the forum).Check their social media - if you see photos of a dog or cat that's significant (could be a parents' pet so use your best judgement) or photos of them smoking and you'll have your answer.

Then inspect if they fail to file for eviction. if you didn’t smell cigarette smoke either they are vaping inside (just as bad for property damage), or if you smoke you wouldn’t be able to smell it sadly.
