When you list it, you can advertise "all wood cabinets" and stand out from a lot of flippers who just put the particle board junk in there.

I see little value in replacing an old solid-wood kitchen that looks worn with a brand-new particle board piece of junk that will return to dust in a few years.

It is only problematic if it is damaged and flaking such that dust/particles are loose and can become airborne.

Sadly, they're always particle board, with a limited life, but I don't know where you get solid wood a a reasonable price.Like this one from Lowes, but the ones they used to have were porcelain not that "cultured marble" crap.

Until the slow leaks cause $40k in damage and you realize particle board is not good in wet areas.You won't clean gutters or get proper downspouts that would've saved your basement from flooding.Do preventative maintenance and protective screening!

That is one thing I heard, that they go up in flames fast and depending on the build, particle board floors could easily cave in if exposed to too much moisture.Thanks!

Particle board boxes will get ruined if they get wet or you have high humidity in the bathroom. 

One side of the house had fire damage to about 1/3 of the asbestos siding on one side-  and particle board plywood had already been put up to replace the damaged area prior to the home purchase.

To me painting cabinets is covering up older ones to make them pop again and put new hardware on.Real wood cabinets the stain would show the beauty of the wood unless you are buying cheap particle board type stuff which I would understand painting them.

Meaning, it will report some levels of particles in the air, many of which are perfectly normal and acceptable to 99.99% of people.
