How to handle asbestos in a newly purchased property, cleveland

Alana Nevares
Posted

Hi,

Hoping to get some guidance on how to handle asbestos. I have to properties with possible asbestos. One has it on the furnace and the other one possibly on tiles. I don't feel comfortable with it and not sure how to proceed. We did not request the seller to address this.
thanks for your thoughts.

If it is fully intact, your best bet is to just leave it. It is only problematic if it is damaged and flaking such that dust/particles are loose and can become airborne. For floor tiles, if it were me, I would just install a new floating floor over it (e.g. laminate or vinyl snap together planks) and then not worry about it :)
