I had to write 18 checks and fill out 18 single page forms (local government efficiency at its finest) yesterday to catch up.

With some proper planning and the funds to lock in materials early, you can have an efficient build, but certainly not fast.

One way to get tax benefits while you're living there could be installing solar panels or upgrading the energy efficiency of the home. 

Having a full stop shop doesn't seem weird from an efficiency standpoint, especially when these businesses are synergistic. 

Using an LLC and drafting an operating agreement ensures efficiency, outlines ownership, and resolves disputes.
