Step #1 - Put something (i.e. tarp, drop cloth, plastic sheeting, etc) down on the floor to help catch the mess and make for an easy cleanup.Step #2 - Fill a sprayer up with water and spray it on the popcorn ceiling. 

I've also seen faux granite (plastic) in beach condos that look decent, don't know the cost of that option but I think the spray on finish is reasonable...Sorry for the hijack Jeff

Went over there and saw lawn chairs on the roof and a plastic table.

Previous off the shelf cleaners could not get the smell out of the plastic pan.

@Tim Lin I don’t play around with door frames but I once heard “plastic wood” is a good item to buy to fix those up.

Any plastic faucets might be cracked.Even the banks are smart enough to (try to) winterize their REO properties starting in September or October ...

The bases have plastic legs that break right off.These are basically disposable cabinets.

Then to find a plastic wholesaler and get prices on bandit sign material.

I had one floor that was so bad the carpets and padding had to be removed then I had to seal off the subfloor/plywood with BIN Primer then lay out a thick plastic sheeting then install new padding and carpet.If you dont neutralize the source of the odor every time the carpet gets wet or damp from humidity it will smell again.
