Aside from the inordinate amount of time I spent getting my engineering degree at LSU, I've always lived in the New Orleans metro area. 

If you were in San fran youd make 25% less with 2.5 times the housing prices.DCs housing stock trades at only 4.5x income, which is incredibly low compared to Boston at 6.5x, NYC 10x, San Fran 11x, LA 9x. 4.5x income puts DC into company with cities like New Orleans.
