The platform of the website seems pretty straight forward but I was curious if anyone had any real world experience and if so what they like/dislike.

I jumped straight in and went with Stessa before looking into everything.

Look for people that have owned for over 10 years, and get it from them off market even at a deep discount and do the work of fixing it up and renting it for higher, or if you want to buy on market I'd definitely recommend offering below asking, as most multifamily that hits the market in these areas are tremendously over priced. 

I typically don't say anything negative but this was a straight up bait and switch, with the change coming after hours on the night before closing.

Do I need to find a RE attorney and CPA for this, or is it fairly straight forward?

Keep in mind, when you get ready to sell houses in low-income, el cheapo areas, your only buyer will be another investors who will want a deep discount.
