Some random guy walking down the street throws a cigarette on your lawn and ignites it and that causes your neighbor's house to burn down. 

Whenever an applicant started out with requesting a discount, or complaining about this or that, or asking or demanding that we provide this or that (from blackout curtains to guarantees of never smelling cigarette smoke...), I learned over many years and many tenants that this is a tenant I will have wished I'd never rented to.So, take it from me, if there is any way you can deny this applicant, do it. 

I have a tenant in one of my houses that is a smoker.

People can spend $5 per day on cigarettes or drugs, so they have money.Also, a lot of elderly people are living on social security. 

The house was beach pink with doors falling off, crap all in the yard, smelled like a cigarette, moldy carpet glued to the sidewalk outside, etc... after we finished making it beautiful and white, pulling carpet and sealing sidewalk with a nice color, landscaping, etc, a lady teacher yelled "thank you, that really transforms the look around here, we appreciate all your work".That was cool.

Oh wait, and there were cigarettes once....But, it's usually flushable wipes because the TV says they can flush flushable wipes, which would seem reasonable. 

Email is easy, sorry no smokers, or whatever the reason is.

I am addicted to cigarette smoking but my rule for my team is no smoking in a unit after we have painted and installed finish flooring.

I went into the unit twice in the past couple weeks for showings and both times it had a strong odor of cigarettes.
