If you don't need the PATH and restaurants within walking distance, you can deal with a ferry to lower Manhattan (in community) or a 10min shuttle to the PATH, you plan on starting a family, you really want to live on the water and actually maybe get on the water for boating/kayaking/paddle boarding, then I would recommend Port Liberte.

They are less desirable than condos and families typically just want to move on and don't wait around for the highest and best offers.Even purchasing at the peak, my units still have plenty of equity (albeit less due to COVID-19).The only downside is (typically) high monthly maintenance costs and (currently) a tough rental market.If you are looking for yield in the short run, Manhattan may not be for you.

Bay area is beautiful and has great weather,so some will always be attracted, but as we are seeing in Manhattan for example, people are willing to consider alternatives.
