Being that I am not as young as you, I will be having Contractors doing the work, which may be interesting on it's own as I will be the acting GC.  

It is a reasonable thinking, but your software is not cooperating.The reason for your software to behave this way is that it considers the vehicle an asset belonging to the business as a whole, a "general overhead" type of expense.
