Additionally I mounted the quiet rock on clips so that it wasn't directly touching the floor above and ran some resilient channels.I probably went overkill, but I just never wanted to deal with it again so I figured I mine as well do it right the first time.Is it perfect, no, but it's 90%+ better.

@Eric Prutzman if you are buying your first property an LLC is overkill as you wont have a lot of equity to protect.

It's overkill though.

Taking on the cost of cameras or an eviction or even just a turnover (especially because it’s hard to find a good tenant this time of year) would be extreme overkill for something you’re likely to encounter a lot when owning multifamily buildings in a state where weed is decriminalized and used by many.

Although it may be a little over kill.

But I’m beginning to wonder if it’s overkill. 

I know a lot of people are also surprised to hear how cheap setting up and maintaining LLC's can be because that idea that "they're over-kill" for anybody that isn't big is a common misconception.

@Mathew FullerSubstantial insurance coverage is mandatory, LLC is optional and possibly overkill for your situation.

Anything more is overkill unless you're in the military.
