If you want, you can add a nice brass sliding surface lock for the bathroom, like this:https://www.houseofantiquehardware.com/bolt-locks-...To complete the look, do the same with the hinges (probably don't need to polish, just soak 'em in paint remover).

The only other advice I'd have, is to be sure to use a waterproof membrane on the shelf, so water won't sit and soak into the framing.What did you end up doing on this project?
