The big players and the largest real estate funds and acquirers are large organizations that absolutely care about what the pedigree of its employees looks like. 

Plenty of HMLs have a long-term product separate from their short-term products but they are distinct products.  

There is  actually one exception: the largest all-inclusive resorts can have condos and villas besides the hotel and you could get one of those.
