Add some landscaping like bushes, shrubs, flowers, or trees to create a more inviting entrance.

Honestly, I don't LOVE having other people in my house (I give a lot of privacy, and put a keypad on the other entrance), but it's been a good experiment. 

If you already own your house perhaps look at turning your basement into an Airbnb if you have a separate entrance. 

The one thing I like about our duplex is the front house has an entrance from street A and there is a fence in between and the back unit faces street B and has a separate entrance from that street.

@Ben EinspahrHi Ben, I can personally vouch for both @Chris Lopez and @Charles Roberts since I used them as my realtors on my last deal, both guys helped me find a terrific house hack single family house with a mother in law suite that has a separate entrance, bedrooms, bathroom, and even kitchen with plenty of space to add more bedrooms over in Northglenn.  

@Lana Lee his entrance door is not the same as my entrance. 

I am renting a live work space in phoenix, ( upstairs full apartment, downstairs full commercial space with windows and separate entrance, also keyed bathroom for clients to use).

The unit already has two entrances and 2 1/2 bathrooms, so it will be a matter of putting up a wall and adding a kitchen.
