Now matter how poor they were they always had Cable TV and cigarettes.

So, inevitably there was damage....holes in walls, cigarette burns in carpet...holes from kitchen knifes..... you know.

It can be good kharma because you are helping out with the affordable housing situation.You can screen them just like you do all tenants.....I have Section 8 tenants at properties in Oakland, CA, Concord, CA and Cleveland, OH and myself and the property manager were able to screen them and gets tenants in that have no dangerous breed animals, no felonies, no evictions, no smokers and we literally had to turn away qualified Section 8 applicants because we or I didn't have any more rentals available because it's like a Sellers Market when you market to Section 8 tenants.   

Man has looked forward to this time and place in history for the last 6,000 years and you got able bodied healthy adults standing in the street corners with a cardboard sign and a cigarette in their mouths begging for cash .its sickening 

Give people plausible deniability instead of direct accusation ("I'm finding cigarette butts all over the property -  I haven't figured out who it is yet so please let me know if you have any idea - I've told the other tenants to watch out too - thanks!")   

The reality is that vulnerable includes people with asthma, diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, smokers and people fighting any number of diseases.

Before renting out a unit I have to make sure by asking if anyone smokes cigarettes, marijuana, hookah, etc.

I screen for non-smokers. 

Not to smoke cigarettes, such a disgusting and nasty habit I formed, while in the military.

The pot smoker will follow the trail , use a net to catch them
