The amount of immigration that that area of Canada recieves is disproportionate to supply.  

I’m a first generation immigrant and I have seen what lack of opportunity looks like.

So I think you are letting a very small subset of the population, immigrants flavor the way you look at low income workers.

I was in military town, open door policy neighborhood.....so drive deters solicitors and noisy neighbors hahaha. 

You are correct, the Investor Immigrant Program was cancelled in 2014 after it proved to be  a failure from a immigration perspective.As you are probably aware, investment opportunities in Canada, depending upon the region, are becoming more difficult to find.  

The border provides stable employment & it seems to house a large immigrant population. 

Rich Chinese investors/immigrants brought into the investor immigrant program so they could buy there way into the country.

At the time, we were in the middle of a lengthy, stressful, and expensive immigration process as well as planning a destination wedding and midterms at the school he was teaching at.  

I was also called by a different person and the left a nasty voice mail calling me all types of names saying a solicitor.

Had to do with the economy, not immigration.
