From what I can read, Airbnb declared this is extremely rare, banned the guest (oh thank you airbnb), but didn't compensate the host. $10k according to the host easily verified based on the videoVideo and more on this here: LinkWhat do you have in place to prevent this at your place(s)?

I do not know where you get your numbers but prop 10 recently got whooped on a state level and that proposition was not to institute rent control but simply to allow municipalities to institute rent control where it is now banned on the state level (biggest aspect is no rent control on units built after 1995 and exempts SFR and condos from rent control state wide).

But did find this article in Floridapolitics.com April 2017:“The Florida House of Representatives approved House Bill 425 Friday 63-56, essentially re-instituting a 2011 ban on cities or counties imposing any ordinances that would treat vacation rental homes any differently from any other house, condominium unit, or apartment in their communities.”
