I could hear you guys being a little bit of star-struck...

I spent almost 10 years in the woods of Northern Maine, the only guy for a mile in every direction, and I am seriously motivated to plop my but into a rocking chair on a wrap around porch in the middle 100 acres ....Experiences, critiques, questions, etc are all welcome.

I currently live here as well (Black Rock).

I should just fall to the ground and thank my lucky stars I was able to slip through the cracks of the system, in all those states, for all those years, with all those properties and all those notes.

Even if you put them in LLCs, even if LLCs offered the rock solid protection the gurus claim, you would still be exposed if you manage them in any meaningful way.

This typically brings down the test scores at some of these highly coveted schools.Generally though the dividing line for the good schools (as well as the affluent areas) is Rock Creek park.

If there have been smokers resident in the house long term, you may end-up pulling/replacing sheet rock in some rooms {i.e. where they primarily smoked} to get rid of the residue.

I've owned a short sale fixer upper for 5 years and aside from major renovations I planned on when I bought, I've never had to spend that much for upkeep.The deal seems like it's worth the effort to me provided the typical house buying stars align.
