Hey everyone, in case you haven't heard, today on the BiggerPockets Podcast we sat down with real estate investor and author Ken McElroy (Author of two of my favorite real estate books The ABC’s of Real Estate Investing and The Advanced Guide to Real Estate Investing ) to talk about getting started with real estate investing and the path that Ken took to get from nothing to where is is today. We even talk about his recent experience raising $9 million dollars in 20 minutes over a brief phone call!

I did listen to the show and I can say that there was not any sensationalism involved. That said, how things are worded can cause some incorrect perceptions and Bill makes some very valid points. While Ken can explain how he personally raised millions in minutes, such a feat is not duplicatable by most others even with the training on the how to simply because they would not have the track record, reputation, and ability to perform as Ken did.
In one of my deals posted here on BP, I had an investor who was committed to fund $800k for an equity stake in a multi million dollar deal back out on me on a Friday afternoon and funding was to take place Monday morning. I raised that $800k over the weekend. While I can write a book about it on the how I did it, it was ONLY due to my reputation, performance history, and ability to make an investor whole that I was able to pull that off.
