As soon as you can comfortably do it after closing, get the exterior door locks changed.If the locks you took off, if they are still in good shape, you can just use them at the next address.

If you need the income produced by these properties then you cannot buy them in an IRA; that money stays locked up until you hit retirement age.

Truly awesome to go to an eviction and the first thing out of the judge's mouth is something like "if you have not paid rent for any reason, you are wrong..." you hear this collective sigh from all the renters in the room...all the while, every landlord is smiling ear to ear.
