@Mindy Jensen,good catch on the grading under the house.hope you rented/bought an extra pump just in case.now off-topic, this-old-house had a few episodes where they explained the types of sump-pumps.they had mentioned one pump that runs no electricity, using water pressure from city water.many houses in chicago area had basement floods because there was no power for extended periods of time, which eventually drain even the battery backup.

LOL We even had a resident we dubbed the "mysterious shitter" because he would randomly take a dump and stash it in various places like under a sink, beside the toilet, on the drain in the shower.

Where the main water line comes up there is a small pool of water and standing water between two layers of plastic near the water line.The gutter spouts drain to a white pvc line going somewhere.

I am disappointed in myself if I am honest and I am being very hard on myself (although I know that it is counterproductive I have not learned yet to be easier on myself).I have taken many bold actions and I am proud of these actions but, I have to learn how to be easier on myself because, it is very draining to ride this emotional rollercoaster.
