Yes, you could file a claim, but may just send you down a road of meetings, paperwork, reports, etc. only to be officially denied in the end.

I'm going to contact city hall and see if this will be officialized, but it sounds like they have some leniency given that the moratorium and subsequent regulations (i.e 300 ft requirement) would put many people in financial straits.Glad the pro-STR crowd came out in full force at last night's meeting.

If your funds are from a third party, then you'd need a letter from that party outlining what they are providing you with, and if they have no official standing (like a bank), from where they have the ability to offer those funds.

You won't get anything from the tenant but also won't get legislation to change based on the first interaction with your elected officials but you will plant a seed and you will have a lever to pull to vent to with someone who might actually be able to drive change!

@Jonathan Bell If your long-term goal is to keep on buying apartment/rentals for a long time, then it will be good to create an LLC because it gives you credibility and reassures them that yours is a real business and thus making it more "official".
