I don't gamble in the stock market.Isn't part of it, that you can create generational wealth by investing outside of a 401(k) into real estate and pass those houses down tax free to the next generation using the stepped up basis?

I suspect 3x the value used will be closer to accurate over the long term (at least $600/month).- I am confident that the 50% rule will be a more accurate expense estimate (-606/month) than the OP's estimate.
