This is my first BRRR, I officially start renting November 1, in the properties current condition, at $1800.

The purpose of this is so I have official proof that whichever attorney I'm looking to hire has previously represented a client in an Oakland real estate transaction.

(The former journalist in me kind of likes talking to city officials.) 

As an example, I was recently able to get the county to change and include the screened in porch to official heated living space on an investment property.

Perhaps there is some official Oakland government website that lists them all?

You should have a conversation with them before they get official notices.

My family has property there and honestly there is a lot of In-Law style units that are already there which the gov has just looked the other way on, this is a move to make it official..

Gov't officials basically caused the housing shortage and now want to punish the homeowner/investor.
